To generate these gases, we use air separation towers (ASUs) that are 60 meters or more high. Inside them, a physical process takes place to separate the air's components. That process, also called low temperature rectifier. Basically, they work like this:
Filter (remove dust) and compress down to about 6 bar
Pre-cooling
Dry and remove all CO2
Cool to below -175 ° C and liquefy in main heat exchanger
Separate into gaseous or liquid form for oxygen and nitrogen products in the separator column
